British Student, 21 year old, @jackcodling excels beyond his age and occupation. Creating captivating, fashion forward, imagery; his use of colours, props, clothing, makeup, models and over all settings come together as sets of well-polished, eye catching, art. Being a huge fan of his work I was interested to find out more about the artist and what inspires his magnificent images.
My name is Jack Codling and I'm a fashion photographer and third year fashion photography student studying at Falmouth University, I'm originally from a town near Brighton in East Sussex.
BEST AND WORST OF YOUR LIFESTYLE
Being able to shoot freely and do what I love without having creative restrictions and I'd say the worst would have to be not being able to afford the extravagant things I want to create.
Culturally driven, dry, colourful and seductive
To me, art is an expression, whether it be a message about the artist or a message about culture. It's a great way of communication.
UNUSUAL ITEMS YOU OWN
Probably the vast amount of offensive furniture, flooring and props I use for my shoots, I recently have bought an old shopping basket off eBay
FAVORITE SHOOT OF YOURS
My favourite shoot is actually an unreleased shoot inspired by Bonnie and Clyde that is coming out in early March, it's featuring a great designer called Bonnie Bowley, her designs are beautiful! The shoots quite dark and seedy compared to my other work, I'm excited to share it with everyone.
Cultural issues and mannerisms inspire me a lot. I draw inspiration from everyday things, like food and other things that people wouldn't necessarily get inspired by, it also comes from films and art too, when I'm shooting designers pieces my inspiration quite often comes from the clothing.
